KaBesDailyDriveBy: Good day and Happy friday to all. faint hint of SE energy with a little crinkle texture on it due to a light NE breeze. pics are up!!!
Cruz: 13-16 sec swell is hitting both Bermuda south buoys. That's 1000 miles away at 600 miles per day. Late tomorrow north and parts of central should see it.
Lolong: Am I seeing some swell coming off a low even before the storm gets in our window of distant opportunity (WODO)
KaBesDailyDriveBy: Flat with a light surface crinkle. Cloudy morning. pics to follow. Let's keep them fingers crossed we might see some surf in the near future!!!!
Oldog: Oh, Great Predicter: Think they'll be any bads (like an actual storm) with the goods?
Pottsie: http://cimss.ssec.wisc.edu/tropic/real-time/europe/images/xxirmet7n.GIF Come on, Ride the Train. It's a Choo Choo Traaaain.
Cruz: Double Empanada coming our way to deliver goods for late weekend into most of next week.
561 guy: ripped jeans girl, too much helium-oldog,you is one funny fella. Here's to hoping we finally get some waves this weekend bradda's
Oldog: Awesome snaps Kabes. Think ripped jeans girl has breathed too much helium?
Cruz: TD#6 has formed in the central Atlantic. Looks relatively impressive.
Pottsie: I'm predicting a dud season. We won't make it past Fiona.
Cruz: Low pressure will settle in off the SE USA coast this weekend. Look for unsettled weather with afternoon showers.
KaBes: Thx Oldog, I try to keep it interesting but it's tough somedays, I'm havin fun though. Easy does it Pottsie, or they'll send you back for all the times you "shot the "RAINBOW"".....LOL
Pottsie: KB shot the pelicans! Send him back to NY!
Oldog: Kabes: Cool photos. I like the one after you shot the pelicans.
Lolong: Cruz, why is the forecast older then current on the iPhone version page?
Lolong: Olddog, if you have to ask your too old. Lol.
Pottsie: I missed it like Donkey Kong.
Oldog: Got a few knee to waist in H Sound last night. No Donkeys sighted.
Oldog: What does that (DK) even mean?
Lolong: It's on like donkey kong! Pick your spot wisely
Oldog: Back from a wk of lobster hunting in Key W and out into the Marquesas. Glad to report zero signs of oil. Think that swells still working its way in to SE Fla?
Cruz: Development in the Deep Horizon area of the Gulf is possible too. The Panhandle should build over the next 24 hours.
Cruz: That low off Newfoundland is impressive. It's moving slow enough away and is large enough to possibly sent some long period swell our way for late in the week into the weekend.
Pottsie: Board is in truck.
Cruz: Potts - I would say Monday ETA and maybe from North PBC up to St. Augy.
Lolong: Getting closer, start waxing up.
Pottsie: Where?
Cruz: Surf Relief in sight.
Will: who's the big-E sized girl?
Cruz: The upper level environment across the eastern Caribbean and west ITCZ has become hostile for any development.
Conan: KB-give me a call 561-401-5882 (wk related)
Cruz: JohnnyWestside reported relatively blown out conditions near Sanibel Island.
Cruz: Westcoasters and Panhandlers - Tomorrow should bring the goods.
Cruz: This homegrown low is sitting just off the SW tip of Florida.
Cruz: A broad swirl of clouds is rotating in toward South and Central Florida today. I will watch the surface winds off the coast to see if South Florida could be in for swell and offshore winds.
walle: Love the photo at the bottom of your page! Da Crew. Sorry I missed all when in PB. not much time to visit. Next time.
KaBesDailyDriveBy: Saturday: Flat, but beautiful out this am....enjoy the pics
Oldog: That BG poked my eye out!
KabesDailyDriveBy: Thx Cruzzer. good to be back!!!!
T Bird: give us weekend booty
Cruz: KB - Nice pictures this morning.
Cruz: East Bahamas buoys are picking up Colin swell. I am anticipating that energy to arrive in Central and North FLA Sunday.
Oldog: Aah, it's a rear end - I was wondering what that was...
Kabes: thx. Oldog, I'm slowly getting back in to the swing of things. I was drooling over that rear end shot on the rewind...but i do like the big bird coconuts!!!
Oldog: Kabes: Good to see you back. Looking forward to the next waveless report. Which BG are you drooling over? The Big Bird coconuts?
Kabes: That might possibly be the finest BGOTD ever. One of my all time favorites, without doubt!!!!! Bravo...Bravo!!!!
Cruz: July Archives are up.
Oldog: Kabes, When down, and troub... - Dont MAKE mesing it (Red bikini wants to know if she can lean on it too)
KabesDailyDriveBy: Oldog, Gumby, Ras, Las, and the rest of my extended family...thank you so much for your thoughts, kind words and prayers. It's your Love that I lean on now....I know it will get me through this. Thank you.
Las: the soul lives forever
Ras: Only the body dies
Oldog: Good news from deepwaterhorizonresponse.com: S Fla, Keys, and E Coast not likely to experience any effects from the remaining oil on the surface of the Gulf as the oil continues to degrade and is hundreds of miles away from the loop current...
Oldog: Good news from deepwaterhorizonresponse.com: S Fla, Keys, and E Coast not likely to experience any effects from the remaining oil on the surface of the Gulf as the oil continues to degrade and is hundreds of miles away from the loop current...
Gumby: Cruz - Invest 90L long range stuff looks quite promising for around August 8th - if long range stuff is anything more than dreams!
Gumby: KB - My condolences. "Let thy joys alone be remebr'd now, Let thy sorrows go 'sleep awhile."
Oldog: Woefully insufficient stand-in wavecheck:: Wakes from miniseason sea hunters almost rideable, but disorganized and fraught with peril. Formerly placid crustacean-crazed beachgoers patrol the waterline grasping little plastic cups of melted butter. No waves. Swam Jupiter with about 100 snook.
Cruz: Dog - Thanks for taking up the slack. Team player award.
Oldog: T of Palm Bch driveby surf report: pancake flat, but I saw this great little purse in a boutique window...
Cruz: Watch for surface pressure drops off the Carolina coast over the next 3-4 days.
Oldog: Kabes, My thoughts are with you. Tacking one of your photos on the wall. Vahevala, Oldog
Cruz: LBL community - Prayers for KB as he has lost his Father this morning. Many perfect days of sailing are ahead for his dad.
Gumby: Jupiter small, weak and sloppy at low tide. Didn't even get wet, and I am as desperate as a pimply faced teenager at a prom.
Cruz: I'm surprised the NHC didn't jump all over the system in the western GOMEX.
Oldog: Fri AM in Jupiter is all wind-driven megamush to the outside. Blowing steady 15-20E, delivering varioust trash to beach. Go get that.
Cruz: Head down to Key Largo. It looks like they will be getting offshore conditions.
Gumby: Late afternoon in Jupiter shows garbage. Took the baord home and picked up the SUP for some flatwater paddling. I need a surf but that was pathetic. Winds tomorrow are supposed to be 20mph out of the east. Could whip it up and clean up a bit Saturday morning with a significant drop in windspeed.
Oldog: Wind from east in Jupiter mid-day resulting in only choppy shore break. Improperly ventilated.
Cruz: TD3 found rotation quickly. That upper low that shift WSW is now in position to help the system by ventilating it. Bonnie cometh.
KabesDailyDriveBy: last night saw the waves drop off as the wind shifted to out of the north, but there were still a few fun lines to get going on. this AM it still has a little funk to it, but it's rideable in the knee to waist high range.
Cruz: The upper low is shifting away, which could allow for this system to develop. Surface pressures are dropping in the Bahamas.
Cruz: The upper low NW of the system is hindering any further development. No vuvuzela.
Oldog: So... does that mean "no" on the vuvuzela?
Cruz: SPBC solid chest high choppage. 9am.
Oldog: Grabbed a few chunks o mush at lunch. Strong N current.
Cruz: The NW Caribbean and area NW of Puerto Rico are bubbling.
Cruz: Dog - Thanks for keeping us posted on the beaches in SPBC.
Oldog: Update: 1st call answered in Houston, rcvd a call back from a Coastie in Alabama, who took all the info again, then called me back & told me to a call another # so they can come look. Sat on hold 10 mins then hung up. Meanwhile, ran back down to bch and found the stuff has swum away, no doubt lured by a blue bikini. Take home message = ?
Oldog: Dude, I just reported two small tar "patties", observed sunning themselves in front of Jupiter CC. Minor goop I wouldn't have thougt twice about a few mos ago, unless I sat in it.
Cruz: Area of clouds approaching the Windward Islands will become an area of interest for the NHC.
Kabes: Good one Potts....but your just pissed we took Okyn instead of u, maybe next time. Oh and at least I don't look like the guy you most resemble....are black leather ass chaps and leather cap tough to surf in???
KabesDailyDriveBy: Go surf!!!! Waist plus E SE wind chop. bottom pic sea turtle tracks, go get wet!!!
Oldog: Jupiter lunch time surf report: It sucks.
Pottsie: Scroll to the bottom of this page. Cool background. KB looks just like the Construction Worker from the Village People.
Oldog: Sampled several varieties of low mush in HS last night
Oldog: Swam Jupiter at lunch. Cruddy SE wind chop, but tide was up. Might be worth a PM low tide check.
ais: J Bay is on live as we speak and it is firing. Slater wins 1st round heat and is straight through to round 3.
KaBesDailyDriveBy: Small but longboardable E SE wind chop, in the sub knee range but building....check and get some...
Lolong: Winds picking up!
Oldog: Cool! Could you please get me a vuvuzela (also known as lepatata- its Tswana name). If you have two more kids you should definitely use those names.
Conan: I know now why I waited 40 years to have kids. When it was flat I could get away. I love my family but it may be time to run out and get a pack of smokes (in S. Africa). J-Bay starts this weekend!!!
Oldog: Im not cursing BP, unless they took cost-cutting shortcuts that resulted in a humongous mess. In that case I could be a bit miffed. Walked bch at lunch, & picked up a bag of plastic bits, but no tar balls to report. Oh yeah, and I carried my car there and back.
Gumby: Nice swell reported for CFL over the weekend and in to next week... any thoughts on SFL?
Oldog: Junkshot!
Pottsie: I'm gonna drive my truck around to all the beaches and look for tarballs. When I find them, I'll drive home and use my computer to curse BP while sitting in my air conditioned home.
Cruz: If I was a tarball, that sight would change my course to Beach It.
Oldog: (Jaws music, with a tarball twist)
Cruz: Damn BP. Spoiling our wildlife.
Oldog: The blonde in the blue bikini got down on all fours and struck a coy pose for the camera, unaware that a gigantic mischievous tar ball was approaching from the rear....
Kabes: I hate to post this, but, should you see any oil, tar, or crude wash up anywhere, please contact: Division of Emergency Management State Warning Point (800) 320]0519 or (850) 413]9911 (24 hours)
KabesDailyDriveBy: Thx, for the props on the hermit Cruzzer!!! nice job on the checkered flag!!!! Waves are Flat...very flat, with some flatness on the side.
Cruz: KB - digging that crab in that shot a few days ago.
Cruz: June archives are finally up.
KaBesDailyDriveBy: Sunday july 11...flat, really flat...but great day for the beach. pics to follow.
lolong: found a waist high wave on wed afternoon in npbc. sweet!!!
KaBesDailyDriveBy: Wednesday the 7th..small sub knee high E wind cop...mostly just chop, maybe long-able. worth a look. pics are up!!!
Cruz: The upper low spinning off the eastcoast is creating a weak NNE swell (2ft @ 12secs). I believe it could make it into the FLA beaches.
lolong: Great update Cruz! Thats what I'm talking about. Crossing fingers for waves down here soon.
WestWind: The waves were working in New Smyrna this 4th. Waist to sholder and on Sunday afternoon. If you stayed with it a little rain about 1 PM and then came a little offshore. Turned into peeling glass.
Cruz: Happy 4th everyone. Be safe.
Cruz: Life can be a little vague when trying to live drive and survive these days. I gotta lot of marshmallows in the fire right now. Everything is great all in all. Long thanks for your concern.
lolong: Ok Cruz, bottom line when can we expect surf locally and how big?? Its saturday and I see no waves at the beach yet and its almost noon. Your forecasts have been kinda vague lately , everything ok?
Cruz: Yeehaw! Lake O Sea tow beware!
H10: Cruz, were trying to get the band together. You in for another trip to the Pier II?
KaBes: and while i do like the pics i take the ones you post seem to have a bit more "body" in the landscape!!! Nice job to you Cruzzer, excellent choices, especially the stars and stripes
KaBesDailyDriveBy: thx Cruzzer....hope today's are just as good, check thm out they are on the way. Waves are sub-shin high but small perfect rollers, just breaking along the shoreline. enjoy the pics
Cruz: Awesome picts by KBizzle yesterday.
Oldog: OK. Saw the site - lots of colors and arrows. Does this mean waveage approacheth?
walle: http://www.stormsurfing.com/cgi/display.cgi?a=eus_swell Sorry...bad copy/paste will be in PB 12 days...look out!
walle: This is one week out...http://www.stormsurfing.com/cgi/display.cgi?a=eus_swell!
Cruz: TD#1 has formed in western Caribbean Sea.
Kabes: good to surf with the www.shrimpcreole.com gang this AM.
Pete: Shout! check out info@ibcustomsurfboards.com

Oldog: Dec 04, #14
Cruz: Darn. If I have too. Oh well, research, research, research.
Kabes: OK, i see the red tint....maybe, but please continue your research!!!!
Cruz: This is the closest to Redheads as I could find. Enjoy. The Gulf of Mexico could get interesting over the next week and a half.
KaBesDailyDriveBy: the report below is for wed, 6/23...go get it. oh and what a nice brunette theme we have going today!!!!!
KaBesDailyDriveBy: surfed 2 sessions yesterday....I needed it bad!!!! life is strange sometimes, make sure you make the most of each and every day!!! waist high SE chop with some nice drops and fun against the grain lefts. go get some
lolong: I keep reading development this and development that , but still there is not one classified depression or anything over waist high on our current plate. I so miss those clean chest high days we took forgranted months ago.
KaBesDailyDriveBy: tuesday, waist high fun E SE chop
Cruz: Energy from 92i are making for some interesting develops in the central Caribbean Sea. Keep an eye on this area. Also a broad area of low pressure is half way across the ITCZ, (eyebrow raise).
KaBesDailyDriveBy: yesterday was kinda fun for sub-knee high. today looks a little better maybe in the knee high range with a peak or two that's better.
lolong: Looks like smaller waves coming then expected from previous model runs.
Cruz: Hey LBL dads! Happy Father's Day.
JB:: And what a week its been! Happy Father's Day.
lolong: How about an all red head week? can you find enough of them?
Cruz: Happy Friday! This concludes All-Blonde Week at the LBL.
KaBesDailyDriveBy: pics to follow
KaBesDailyDriveBy: Friday 6/18...flat. really flat, great snorkling out there, I've seen a bunch of sea turtles lately...they are so awesome to watch gliding through the water
Cruz: BP skit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2AAa0gd7ClM
Cruz: The cluster of storms related to 92i should be watched as it approaches FLA by Tuesday/Wednesday of next week. Hopefully it will drag across the big islands and remain tattered. If it makes it just north of the big islands it could get into more favorable winds aloft and try and and squeeze into the GOMEX.
KaBesDailyDriveBy: no report or pics today...sorry. it is flat incase you were wondering
imperial: Hope it will bring something our way , going loco with this flat ocean .
Oldog: Get the "boards" ready!
Cruz: It awfully early for such a large and well organized system to be sweeping in from the ITCZ.
KaBesDailyDriveBy: sunday: flat with SE seabreeze making for a little surface chop early this am. pics to follow
KaBesDailyDriveBy: Flat out there, pics to follow. used my sunglasses as a filter in the one pic with the tree...hope u enjoy

KaBesDailyDriveBy: TGIF, school is out and summer is here!!! and so is the flatness. no pics today...sorry the camera was dead. but the pics from yeterday pretty much show the conditions of today. Stay cool, try to stay out of the direct sun...and hydrate, hydrate, hydrate
nJOE: WHAT!login downjah insouth or ever
Oldog: http://www.whitehouse.gov/blog/2010/04/15/preview-a-resilient-nation
Oldog: I thought something was missing here, but I was hopiing it wasn't slander, libel or racism.
KaBesDailyDriveBy: Tuesday6.8.10 Flat, very flat. But pretty cool to see a turtle close to shore this AM, check out the pic. (The pics will be updated shortly)
Pottsie: Barrack said, "White people are resillient. They'll be OK."
Oldog: Oops, extra "u" fom "shout" got stuck at end. Use this one. http://www.whitehouse.gov/blog/2010/06/04/ground-louisiana
Oldog: FYI - Good link for info re whathe Prez IS doing, and a route to provide input. http://www.whitehouse.gov/blog/2010/06/04/ground-louisianau
JB:: Yup. He talks tough, but doesn't do diddly about it. Pretty typical, I guess.
Pottsie: Obama needs to take some action and temporairly fund all local governments to do cleanups. Tally up the bill later and send it to BP.
JB:: At this point, I don't see how we can avoid the inevitable. BP and Obama are saying it's another 2-3 months from being fully capped.
Oldog: Pottsie: You're probably right (either that or you're an idiot and I'm ashamed to know you!), but it'll get in/on adjacent reefs, seagrass beds and mangroves, and into estuaries too. Oil on the beach could also zap a summer's worth of sea turtle nests.
JB:: We'd be lucky if that were the only place oil showed up.
Pottsie: I'll get blasted for this.....but what's wrong with oil washing up on a sandy beach???? It's about the best place it could go. Very easy to clean up and very little environmental impact. Seriously.
Cruz: Thanks for information Dog. It's sad. With all that oil sitting in the Gulf, it will only take a minor tropical system to cause MAJOR havoc along a majority of the shoreline from the Keys to Texas. Since the leak is still flowing any "clean-up" now is futile. It's a MAJOR disaster waiting in the wings ready to so rudely come ashore.
Oldog: Just in from deepwaterhorizonresponse.com Coast Guard ... currently responding to reports of an oily substance and tar balls near Duck Key, Long Key, and Grassy Key, Fla... The public is reminded that tar balls are a hazardous material...
Oldog: Lighter note: Check out plasticfreeocean.org and track the progress of Tom Jones, paddling an SUP from Key W to NYC to raise awareness. Somewhere off FL right now.
Oldog: My take: This mess underscores the need for meaningful regulation of industries that are motivated only by profit, and have the potential to impact the economic and environmental sustainability of other sectors of society. Less regulation and oversight = more shortcuts and damage to others. t!
Cruz: There is an area of convection east of the Bahamas.
Cruz: May archive is up.
JB:: thats funny!
Cruz: I'm good with it...as long as the fairy's azz has a Blowout Preventer.
Pottsie: How do you propose we get the oil we all consume? Pump it out of a magical fairy's butt? Or just continue to buy it from people that hate us and finance our debt?
Oldog: hmm
KaBes: One more thing...regarding this issue, you are an idiot. and I'm ashamed to say I know you
KaBes: oh also great point on the consumption in an hour thing Potts, the only difference is when we consume it we dont pour it directly in to the Gulf killing everything that comes in contact & try to tell all the marine life, aquatic birds, and fragile habitats, oh and people's livelyhoods that are dying horrific deaths, the stuff is not toxic they may beg to differ
KaBes: Potts are you for real? Yeah BP is looking out for our best interests!! & if they are pushing the limits...then shouldn't the experts at BP know this?
Pottsie: One more thing: Ron Klein is an idiot. I'm ashamed to be from the same State as him.
Pottsie: Also, the spill is currently at 7-10M gallons. That is about what we consume in 1 HOUR in this country.
Pottsie: They do have a safety shutoff valve. It's call the Blowout Preventer. It failed. We ALL use BP's product. It's not toxic. It's oil. The biggest problem is that the Gov Regulators allowed them to drill at INCREDIBLE depths. 5000' of water. Then drilling 15,000ft. + through the bottom. That is pushing the limits of science and engineering. That's what should have been questioned.
mjl: Kabes...BP pulled in $14 Billion in profit last yr. They can go to hell! BP owns about a dozen other companies, inlcuding Castrol.
KaBesDailyDriveBy: Small below knee high SE chop/windchopswell leftovers. Oh and BP sucks crude oil...bastards!!!!!!!
KaBes: Hey let's drill a hole in the earth a mile below sea level, pump toxic crude oil up to a platform on the surface but let's not use any safty cut off valves.....great idea!
KaBes: are they kidding??? this will go down as the worst environmental disaster ever, oh and BP's profits last year broke records and were in the Billions of Dollars range!!!!
Cruz: I'll start - How can the regulations on these oil platforms be so lax? I guess hell with the environment. Why aren't there mandated fail safes built in to stop the source of the flow of oil. One valve located under the sea bed with some "no draw - no open" function.
Cruz: If I don't see 10 ShoutOUTS that state this Gulf Oil Spill Sucks, I'm not going to post 5 new BGODs.
KaBesDailyDriveBy: tuesday...Memorial day plus one. Sorry no report or pics today....the Boss's Boss is in town and I need this gig!!!
Cruz: NW Caribbean is a place to watch. I call "Fish outta water."
KaBesDailyDriveBy: Sunday pre-memorial day. small E SE chop in the sub knee hign range, almost rideable but small....check it. todays pic of the sand tracks courtesy of the sea turtle!!! hope you enjoy
KaBesDailyDriveBy: FLAT!!! Hope you caught some, my body is definitley telling me I caught my share. 3 days of fun waves, maybe not the best conditions but we'll take it.
Oldog: 561: Glad you got out. It felt good to knock the rust off. Jupiter this AM was still rolling in but not breaking. Knee's good, thanks. Arms feelin' it!
561guy: Ended up stuck down south on unexpected work Wends. Overslept this AM, and managed to crack FPI at 10, just as onshores were coming up. Locals said it was real good early. My surfing was way out of sync' so it's just as well I didn't get early, still felt great to get back in the auga-mabee the rising tide got better in the afternoon, but I didn't see shoulder high in AM dropping tide Oldog. Hope the knee is better, take er easy for awhile.
Oldog: Just got word that St Lucie Co is still shoulder plus
KaBesDailyDriveBy: Thursday am. small in the knee high range, might fill in down here through out the day. There are some rideable ones out there for sure. Pics to follow...
Oldog: Still a swell but not breaking where I looked in Jupiter this AM. Mid day low tide may still work.
Pottsie: Boynton Inlet cam is back up and improved: http://www.co.palm-beach.fl.us/webcams/slwi/index.htm/url
ais: Hobe Sound was well overhead and breaking on the outside today, but side shore conditions had it a bit junked up. Still fun. Hope it makes it down to Delray tomorrow, but nothing as of 2:30.
Oldog: Lunchtime update: still rolling in, waist to shoulder, but wind's crumbling it up. Do alpaca have toes?
JB:: alpaca toe! LMAOOOOO!!
Wahoo: Nice Oldie...wishing it shows up down south too...CEO has a sweet alpaca toe
Oldog: Got out in Jupiter this AM - nice long shoulder high lefts. Been out of the water 8 wks with knee recoup. I am alive! (that blond is Martha Kretz, CEO of the company that makes those dish scrubbers with the soap inside)
Wahoo: where are the waves today?
Bgotd: Who is that blonde today?
561guy: Tuesday-anybody surf today? Takin a partial goof-off day tomarrow, I'll let you know if I get wet.
Cruz: I think it will make into Broward by tomorrow and probably Dade.
Wahoo: How far south Cruz?
Cruz: The low is tracking WNW and will remain a sub-tropical system. Either way, good for us. Lights winds and decent swell. Heck yeah we deserve it!
Monopod: Sweeeet.
Cruz: Cape Canaveral 20mile buoy - 10sec @ 3ft
Cruz: St. Augustine is looking sweet right now.
Cruz: Buoys are looking good for energy to show late today - CFL and NFL
KaBesDailyDriveBy: Mon.5.24.10 below knee high but might be able to get going on a log. do I dare say hello Alex???
KaBesDailyDriveBy: small E NE wind chop in the knee high range maybe a peak or 2 that is waist high. could have some fun. go get some before your wax is covered in a nasty black layer of tar
KaBes: weak low level rotation....sounds like a personal problem....LOL
Cruz: There is a weak low level rotation east of the Bahamas. it is slowly tracking west. Also a little energy remains in the NW Caribbean.
Wahoo: Yo dudes, back in town...spotted 2 dead reef fish on Deerfield Beach last night, not sure if it has anything to do with Oil fiasco or just coincidence...
Conan: RIP Marvin Foster - your backside tubes inspired the world of surfing. Thanks for the contributions!!!
KaBesDailyDriveBy: flat...very flat
Cruz: There's a persistent area of cloudiness off the coast of Belize. Hmmmmm.
Cruz: Any tar balls being sighted along the east coast beaches yet?
Wavewarrior: I'll b in Marina del ray 4 2wks in Juily, any heads up 4 surf optins walking distancw from the marina? Surfed NB all week , glad to be getting some sliders. Tired of pulling dumbasses from RIP currents!
KaBesDailyDriveBy: Fri.AM waist to stomach plus NE wind chop. some nice looking drops and a face or two to rip up as well. hit it!!! it definitley looks fun
walle: Heading to PB in July for a week! any idea what the surf will be like? DOH!
walle: Cruzzer...still waiting for my sticker! Too many people, not enough adverts! LOL
5-0: BGOTD is 5 times better!
will: does any one know who the black haired girl is?
Cruz: 5er Day.
Oldog: Ah - You funny guy too! He wear yellow tshirt, sandy saltbags hangout!
JB:: I jest. Although it would be funny if they made him do that!
Oldog: JB: I can't tell whether your reply is a continuation of my joke or just a strange coincidence... (Is that him to the left?)
KaBesDailyDriveBy: Tues.5.11 small knee to maybe waist hig E chop with an almost SE look to it. could be fun today...again worth the check if you can
KaBesDailyDriveBy: Mon.5.10, almost rideable NE wind chop, worth a check today if you can. Thanks for the props on the photo's!!!
JB:: Oldog, they said something about having him meet in front of the foodmart and to make sure he's wearing a yellow Fort LAuderdale T shirt so they know it's him...
JB:: Nice picts KB.
Cruz: Nice pictures from KB. FLA________t.
Oldog: Wahoo: Don?t believe JB if he says to meet his "uncle" at a bar with a bunch of Ks, As & Ms in the name, where he'll recognize you by your ?Haoles Rule? t-shirt.
Oldog: Did she spring a leak?
Cruz: APB: Are there any iPhone App programmers out in LBL Land? I need you to contact me at 561-572-7189.
KaBesDailyDriveBy: FLAT!!! Pics r up

Wahoo: Flyin to Hawaii in 3 days for much needed vacation...anyone want to reveal any top spots????!
KaBes: and the pics, when cruzzer finally decides to post them today, were a study in water reflection....hope you enjoy
KaBesDailyDriveBy: Small scale below knee high SE chop slop...not all that fun looking, but there is something to get going on if you are desperate
Wahoo: Thanks JB, but I can't get that link to work...??? Not sure why...
Oldog: FYI: Word via email from Surfrider re Gulf, and possibly even Atlantic coasts, is: ?the best thing we can do right now to prepare for oil making landfall is to clean up the shorelines. The less garbage and debris on shorelines, the easier they are to clean up.? One Piece, or more...
lolong: It was very very small this weekend. Rideables were few and far between. Should of booked that trip to Nica when I had a chance. Sigh.
Cruz: I guess it stormed last night. Anyway, look for an increase in SE winds for the weekend. It should be rideable all weekend long.
Cruz: ..And they call it Stormy Friday.
JB:: Wahoo, try www.surfnewsnetwork.com Look for Kauai in the Home-Reports drop down menu.
Wahoo: website that is...
Wavewarrior: N.broward saw a fun waist high swell wed. start to build after 3. Hope yall got urs. really fun and clean.
Wahoo: never mind it refreshed...anyone know a good surf report for Kauai?
Wahoo: what's up with the new look of the shoutbox?
KaBesDailyDriveBy: Wednesday: FLAT!!!
Cruz: Come on people, cameras, cameras! I always anticipate BGOTD moments.
YO!: Did you not take any pics?
ais: A floating version of Las Vegas came to Boca Lake this weekend in the form of the Boca Bash. For those of you who were there you know what I am talking about. Cruzzer you could have filled an entire year of BGOTD's
KaBesDailyDriveBy: Thanks Cruzzer for the props...you know it is my pleasure!!! not always easy but just tryin to do my best
KaBesDailyDriveBy: Stormy Monday: small SE cleaned up wind chop below knee high, lots of weather, not worth getting struck over, but almost rideable...
Cruz: And they call it Stormy Monday.
Oldog: TheDude: I'm prettu sure that was Melinda Macinski, Canadian curling champion. Her exclusion from the Olympics was purely political.
Cruz: Thanks to KB for getting down to the beach on such a nice morning, AND THEN dragging himself into "relaxing" WORK.
TheDude: Who is that gorgeous blond that was yesterday's bikini girl of the day?
KaBesDailyDriveBy: Wed. AM nice morning with micro ankle high swell just rolling up on shore.
Cruz: New system in north central Gulf trying to take form. It should be through the area before the weekend.
jim: doggystyling
KaBesDailyDriveBy: Tuesday 4/20...wink, wink, Small NE, E, left over chop that is now clean groomed swell. the further N you go the better. maybe Knee high locally.
Harrison: Wednesday... 2-4 ft @13 secs at noon... f*** school
Harrison: Wednesday... 2-4 ft @13 secs at noon... f*** school
KaBesDailyDriveBy: Mon.4/19/10 NE wind chop in the waist to chest range. Rainy nasty conditions, but there is surf.
Cruz: This eastern Gulf rain pattern could be setting up shop for a while.
KaBesDailyDriveBy: Waist to Chest + NE wind chop!!! Go get it!!!
Oldog: Cruz: Thx, and Happy IRS Day to you too. I'm out of the water for a few wks with a little knee repair (which had been fine until I mentioned it here...?)
Cruz: Oldog - NOAA is calling for strongish onshores for much of the weekend in SFL. Central and North could fair better with lighter winds.
Cruz: Happy Tax Filing Day.
Oldog: Cruz, do you happen to have a handle on wind and swell predictions through the wkend? Trying to determine feasibility of doing some work from a boat. Thanks for any info.
Cruz: Sorry about the site issues yesterday. It was some DNS IP BS stuff. Surf on!
Wavewarrior: Hey Pottsie r u still shaping boards? I rode 1 @ 6-8 ft Hermosa yrs back big and thick, did the trick!
KaBesDailyDriveBy: Small NE Wind chop in the waist high range.
KaBes: Thanks Oldog, much appreciated!!!!
Oldog: KaBes: That was actually a Happy Bday to your son (proof that kids make you feel at least 10 yrs older, but also keep you young).
Conan: B-day wishes from CFL...
Conan: Slater Rings the Bell!!! Potz, I still got the bank that has $4.72 in it. That should buy you a new mug, sorry we don't have enough for the other mug;)
KaBes: Happy birthday to the Oldog!!! BTW My son turned 10 on Wednesday...unreal, I have a 10 yr old, hard to believe!!!
Oldog\'s Mother: Word to the Birthday Boy!
Nalsa President: Ahhhhh Steve can we get Kurt the artwork for the mugs and rash guards? sorry Pottsie we will get you a replacement right awway.
KaBesDailyDriveBy: Nicer than yesterday as far as size in the waist to stomach range, SE wind chop. drift looks hefty but there are some waves out there that offer more than just a drop one move and out. some fun ones out there
Seacliff: Call Kurt.
Pottsie: My SALSA coffee mug is fading badly. Who do I talk to about getting a free warranty replacement?
KaBesDailyDriveBy: wed. AM, Happy Birthday to my son!!!! 10 years old...hard to believe I have a 10 yr old. waves are knee to thigh + SE wind chop. some rideable ones out there, looks ok, go get it.
KaBesDailyDriveBy: Good morning all and happy belated Easter. Today it looks like knee to thigh high maybe a peak or two better than that. better form to it than yesterday or day before but still small. rideable for sure but small...go get some
Oldog: Word to the Mutha!
Conan: Fun weekend of surf. Some how every Easter our mother gives us waves. Happy Easter...
Gumby: And more JB... http://www2.swaylocks.com/forums/3-new-revolution-horans
Gumby: Cool. I think we could get something really fun together. I'll keep you posted on it. LMK any suggestions for a location. You have my email...
JB:: Sweet boards Gumby! BTW, I read the string about the proposed Log Jam. Keep us posted on that. We were thinking of putting something similar together, so LBL would be in for sure.
Cruz: Good time yesterday. I'll try and plan the next a little further in advance.
Gumby: Board porn: Summer Ft. Pierce special...http://2ndlight.com/fusetalk/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=3&threadid=106338&enterthread=y
561guy: I get a kick out of what trend Cruz is into with the bgods' he picks. His latest tramp stamp phase (I call em bumper stickers) is another winner.
Cruz: Definitely families are welcome. I'm bringing my tribe.
Cruz: We are having a semi-spontaneous beach gathering tomorrow in Delray Beach. email: steve@cruzzer.com for more information. 4PM til ?
Cruz: March Archives are up. No joke.
Jizzler: Sickest day for sponging at juno pier... forgot my surfboard at home
Conan: CLF provide some chest+ clean conditions Monday and Sunday Night. Too bad we only had one day of spring. Hopefull for an Easter Day Swell
Cruz: PSL: Nice way to start off the week.
PSL Local: The best Monday I have had in a long time. FPI was all time head high shacks..surfed 5 hours I will feel that tomorow
KaBesDailyDriveBy: starting to try and clean up out there...keep an eye on it today. Waist to chest SE Chop, strong drift, some sea pests too. But there are waves!!!! go get it
Surfer Dave: OMG I'm in Lust!
KaBes: 5 of a kind!!!!!!!!
KaBes: WOW!!! BGOTD Supreme!!!!
Surfer Dave: Blinding headlights and a nice smile too!
KaBesDailyDriveBy: Friday: small around shin high and not rideable really. SE winds chop with 10 kt winds might be loggable somewhere for the desperate.
Cruz: Crazy line of storms slicing across the state heading for Brevard county. Looking sort of tornadic.
FlaSrufer: When are these damm snow looerss going home? They make me late for work, make me wait to get a table, take all the parking spaces. Time for you to go home!
561guy: good show, bgod and big e-merrrcy-3/25
KaBesDailyDriveBy: Thursday..sorry for the late post, but not much to report. you can tell by the pics, that is is small SE wind chop below ankle high
KaBesDailyDriveBy: Wed. AM Strange small little sub calf high NE swell with some wind crinkle on top. not rideable.
KaBes: Pics went up late yesterday.
Cruz: Next week is forecasted to be a more promising surf week.
Gumby: Hit Ft. Pierce. Epic....ly bad. Knee to thgihg with NW wind bumping it. Had a few chort sliders then the wid turned onshore and it turned form semi-garbage to full-on garbage. Still, got wet and rode something. Will have to do until Monday... BTW the water up there is frickin freezing! My feet felt like nubs.
KaBes: Sorry no pics today...Cruzzer must have not been able to post them, but it's flat anyway.
KaBesDailyDriveBy: Flat and real calm this am with just a hint of a line rolling up on the sand. We had a pretty good run there for a while...fun while it lasted!!!
Cruz: Sorry about that Gumby. Maybe I contracted a tape worm while surfing. Oh well it was worth it.
Gumby: That looks like I answered myself! thanks for the heads up. Wish I could be there at the right tide. sAdly, work in the a.m. Well, I'll call up there. On 10' Noseriders we should be able to catch something.
Gumby: The Ft. Pierce Buoy is reading 15 sec at .7 feet. Offshore winds and the right tide could possibly give you a knee wave. I always say "When the sun is shining, there is no such thing as a bad beach day." Actually it's the first time saying it.
Gumby: If you surfed Juno Pier, could be all that dredged sand releasing goodness knows what... Curz - NOOOoooo! We can't have a reduction in waves already. Feels like I've barely gotten started. Any predictions for Ft.P tomorrow? A friend unexpectedly came in from the NE and wants to go for a surf. Hoping there might be a thigh high wave to take the big noseriders out?
dwj: olddogs need to be carefull
Oldog: Just curious - did anybody else get sick after being in the water last week? I picked up a nasty cold after Fri night, and think it may be inlet crud.
KaBesDailyDriveBy: Small below knee high clean SE E leftovers. might be some small sliders around if you're desperate.
Pottsie: Good to see the LBL crew in the water, as opposed to filming themselves Car Surfing.
FlaSrufer: I found some nice Headhigh wedges yesterday. but no parking? a complete Zoo, When are these snowturds leaving!!!!!!!
Oldog: I'm slightly paralyzed today too, but planning to creak on down and pick up some scraps tonight.
Gumby: Old Dog - Belushi... Well, I'd pay good money and it'd be worth it. I know, I know, it's a family site...So sore today I cannot even contemplate surfing. Sadly, it doesn't look so good for next week. Got to fix the rudder on my Cat for those down days
JB:: yeah yeah, kelly dunn. that's what I said...
Oldog: Yeah, that?s the kind of PR I need. I do NOT want to know what Cruz almost ate (until at least after lunch). Kelly Clark is an Olympic snowboarder. I?m not telling her either.
Cruz: Kelly Dunn is her name at WPTV. Good people over there.
JB:: Oldog, if that happens, call Kelly Clark at wptv. They'll make you famous, for a day. Just ask Cruzzer. Very fun yesterday with the entire crew trading one glassy left after another.
KaBes: Great session last night with the LBL crew!! oh yeah, and Pottsie also. Fun fast and clean!!! the way I like my Women!!! Ok ok I like the dirty ones too...
KaBesDailyDriveBy: Still some swell out there, stand out spots are picking it up the best, some local sandbars have been created, and it's thigh to waist+, NE Long lines, good angle. go get some while it's still here!!!
Oldog: 1) Heinous it was, but worthwhile. 2) How MUCH for her? What are you, Dan Ackroyd? and 3) if I get a chicken parm sub with a big sandy nipple, should I send it back?
Cruz: Fun, fun, fun day. It had to be, for me to catch it twice today. AM/PM.
Gumby: Got it in SoPBC. Started out not breaking then it cranked in and just rifled down the sandbar. Goofies and Pros were managing it. I was lucky enough to get a few decent shoulders. Dropped dramatically in size toward the end of the day. A few sharkies and one very big one. the Jupiter paddle just looked heinous to me so that's why I went south. Did I mention that I'm in love with the girl to the left. How much for her?
Oldog: Got outside in Jupiter at lunch - long paddle, stiff S current. Good sets coming through but winds getting squirrly N-W, and heavy backwash. 50/50 open ends/closeouts. Go!
Cruz: 14 sec @ 6 ft are just about the average for the offshore buoys. Check it this afternoon/evening as the tide drops out.
JB:: That BGOTD has the chicken cutlet thing going on.
Oldog: On the game is. Great sunset session, but sharky. AM should be good.
Cruz: Oh Yes it does.
Cruz: Yes. Treasure Coast looks fun.
Oldog: showin in Jupiter
KaBesDailyDriveBy: flat right now with less of swell than yesterday. Keep an eye on it today as things should change significantly by the end of the day. Oh yes, change significantly it will....LOL
Oldog: I think that BGOTD did the pre-flight instructions the last time I flew. The Captain kept interrupting her.
JB:: you sound like yoda.
Cruz: From the position of that low plus the southern motion, the surf will improve here..... oh yes improve it will.
KaBesDailyDriveBy: Flat but trace lines from the NE again, just like yesterday.
Woo: Not hopeful in Fort Lauderdale though, right?
Oldog: Let the record show that I am simply asking innocent questions, and not displaying any behavior that would brand me as the AntiCruz.
Cruz: Thursday/Friday are looking hopeful for EC of FLA.
KaBesDailyDriveBy: Flat with micro ankle high NE swell rolling up on the beach
Gumby: Just sayin.
Gumby: I think the extra appendage is actually her girlfriend's leg... the one who's lying on the towel beneath her. Naked.
Gumby: That's what I saw, Cruz. Hoping so. Could use some waves having missed last weekend.
Cruz: NW component to the winds this evening. Local swell in the AM?
surfer: i think its a third boob!!!!
Oldog: OK- What's up with the flower-ear chick? Is she airbrushed or is she emitting a grey aura? And WHAT body part is that beneath her cleavage? (and don't try to tell me it's one of you guys)
Cruz: (1:30 PM) 30-40 minutes before the sky opens up in SoFla. Crazy line of rain heading in.
KaBes: Pics r up...not too bad 561guy, must have been in between squalls...lucky!!!
561guy: better use the go pro camera for the daily friday pict Ka man! VAS conditions today, mabee am if winds go west?
KaBesDailyDriveBy: similar to yesterday, might be a bit smaller but cleaner and more organized.SE wind chop in the waist + range
Cruz: Thanks Hoo!
mjl: BGOTD...nice!
KaBes: pics r up
Wahoo: Wooohoooo! I love life! Jah bless the LBL squad!
KaBesDailyDriveBy: I'd say about chest high
KaBesDailyDriveBy: Big SE Chop with almost Victory at sea conditions, but some fun ones to get in to. watch out there are man-o-war, but there are waves.
Wahoo: Nipple ALERT!!!
KaBes: Pics r up.
KaBesDailyDriveBy: SE chop below knee high. Not rideable yet. Should build through the day and could be fun later. Check it today.
KaBes: Hey Johnny, the wax goes on the other side of your board, and do not advertise your disposition like that!!!!
KaBes: Nice Oldog!!! I went looking at lunch but did not find any rideable waves. Still stoked by our little run of waves though!!!!
Oldog: Actually, there was one rideable wave left - got it at lunch.
KaBesDailyDriveBy: Just about flat...micro shin high north lines, with some strange south look to some of the lines...odd. But not rideable, we had fun while it lasted!!!pics to follow
Oldog: and I don't know where the repeat BG came from, but I think today's has a family of bugs living in her bellybutton
Oldog: Got a couple of shoulder to head drops + long lefts at lunch. Check it out.
Cruz: Repeat. I know. BUT how could I NOT. Quick. First one to tell me what month and year of the previous sighting?
KaBes: BGOTD repeat!
KaBesDailyDrinveBy: Monday3/8...small knee high NE swell. Long lines, good angle, just not enough size to be real fun. You might be able to catch a couple of peelers on a log but that's about it. Pics r up!!! Check it later!!!
Cruz: A major part of the swell will be hitting this morning the EC of NFL AND CFL later today.
Cruz: The low now east of Nova Scotia is cranking out a huge fetch right now. It is throwing a lot of energy our way. Should continue to produce and build for the wknd peaking on Monday.
Oldog: Big change overnight. Sizeable NE swell/whitewater. Paddled (and paddled...) out, but not enough time pre-work to make it to outside (feeling OF&S)
Cruz: I think I do see some groundswell hitting the St. Augy buoy. We should see a building swell on the beach of St. Augy down through Daytona by night fall. The rest of the coast SHOULD see it by Friday AM.
Cruz: February 2010 Archive is up. BGOTD updated. Big-E updated. All we need is some surf to bump up.
KaBes: Pics r up
Oldog: Right on Cruz. Hit it last night and this AM. Dolphins, blues, jacks & spinners in the soup last night. Still warming up. Enjoy the day!
JB:: Killer session yesterday indeed.
KaBesDailyDriveBy: ok, nice NE lines in the knee + range. Gulfstream is big and there are a few sets sneaking in. Check it often and have your board with you.
KaBes: Wow...some real fun ones last night is right!!! Perfect conditions, hollow long NE lines. Nice and warm in the h2o, but 561guy is right, cold walk back and lovin it!!!! Great session!!!!!
561guy: drizzling saltwater out the nose, almost on the keyboard-and lovin it! cold walk to the car when that sun went down.
surfer: thanks for the heads up Cruz! if it wasn't for that "check it" message i wouldn't have scored some great waves
WAvewarrior: NB waist high and off shore.
KaBes: 5 of a kind!!!!!
Cruz: Check it. Check it now. Bring your stick.
Cruz: Signs of lines.
KaBes: pics r up
KaBes: I thought that was you Oldog!!! ahhh yes, the Majesty of Vernon Valley Great Gorge, and just a hop skip and jump from Long Island
Oldog: KaBes: Oh yeah, just add the alpine majesty of Vernon Valley to that list and we?ve definitely crossed paths, if not collided.
JB:: yeah cruzzer, great run on the bgotds. it looks really Hard and difficult to handle...
KaBes: I would like to just stop and take a moment to really thank Cruzzer for his phenomenal BGOTD work lately!!!! I would say "keep it up"....but that's way too easy, and tee'd up, even for Johnny B
KaBesDailyDriveBy: Wed.3/3 as of 8am FFFLLLLAAATTTT!!!!! pics to follow. Oldog..which ice fields? I grew up IceSkiing at Hunter & Wyndham in NY and Stowe, Stratton, & Bromley in VT, Waterville Valley in Mass, you name it!!!
Cruz: _______________ at 7:25AM
Oldog: Lunch special today is a peely mush-burger on a balmy SE breeze, with a north sweep sauce and a side of bluefish. Delish!
Cruz: The weekend is looking good.
Oldog: JB: 1937? Nah, I guess 12 & 15 years ago (dang...). Getting crowded, but A Basin was still off the beaten path. I grew up skiing the NE ice fields, so out west was beautiful no matter what.
KaBesDailyDriveBy: tuesday pics r up
KaBesDailyDriveBy: Tuesday 3/2/10 8:30 AM small knee high SE wind chop. Fat tide has it breaking real close to shore, but you might find a spot with something to get going on. SE winds 10-15 knts
JB:: when were you there Oldog? Crowds heavy? Wasn't too bad for us, but it looks like it can get busy there. My first time there.
Cruz: Now that's funny, but tragic.
Oldog: JB: I'm gonna live. 1st time in Breck I blew out a knee on day 1. I crutched/shuttled/drank around for 2 days, then duct-taped it & just skied ? ends up I?d snapped an ACL (brain damage has its advantages).
KaBes: Wow, that's funny, I did that last night. ruined a good pair of boxers!!!!
JB:: Wow, my comments must've really hurt Oldog. That or he ate too many sargassum brownies again.
Slowdog: Now he?s lightin? his underwear on fire and singin? a duranduran song!
Oldog: No worries, but thanks. My bros tend to exaggerate a bit.
Cruz: Nice. Full-house.
LeTigre W: JB: It's good to see that somebody else other than me is taking some heat for bad decisions.
Cruz: Dog and Dog family: I want to formally apologize for JB's accusations. He was completely out of line. If you refer to the LBL terms of use, it does state that LBL is not responsible for "douche-like" statements.
Slowdog: and he keeps yellin somethin ?bout ?But, HE?s the one who said thanks for taking care of the twins...?
Fatdog: What did you boys say? Our brother won?t come out of his room...
KaBes: today's pics r up
Cruz: The low south of Nova Scotia is cranking out some major energy. There is a sniper shot of energy heading toward Florida currently. We will have to see any of that energy will show on the Cape Hat buoys.
Cruz: whoaaaa! whoaaa! Oldog would never speak out of line like that. KB..... hmm... yeah. And I was thinking snow. Only snow.
JB:: No, she doesnt. She only knows about Mrs. Fist Deep. I would expect this from KB and Oldog; not the upstanding pillar of the community that is Cruzzer. Very disappointed.
KaBes: Does your wife know about this Mrs. Thigh Deep you went slushing around in her mountains with????
Cruz: I'm glad somebody scored this weekend. I am talking about the snow OF course.
Taint: JB: Careful with your wording "Mrs. Thigh deep" COULD be misinterpreted. Of course I didn't think anything but snow levels.
JB:: Just back from a sick snowboarding trip to Breckenridge; just me and the Mrs. Thigh deep powder in the trees. Nice to be home though; back to oxygen and humidity!
KaBesDailyDriveBy: MonAM. wow March 1st already, hard to believe... 8:30am Below knee high north lines, tide has it rolling up on the beach. gulf stream is macking, cold air in place, NE lines are showing, now we wait....
Cruz: My buddy Lance and WaltonSurf.com will be cranking by late tomorrow into Monday.
Cruz: Strong NW winds near gale force for tonight and Tuesday night again.
Cruz: Added Surf CAMS thumbs to the Waterman. Also fixed "Marine Conditions (Audio)" links above.
Oldog: Gumby - I asked the dolphins to herd mackerel, not sharks, to Boynton. Apologies for any mis-communication. Carcharhinus macarena!
Wahoo: Last night in NB: knee to waist, with chest to occasional head high sets. Really surprised only one out. Water looked like Kava Kava and sharky; though no Carcharhinus leucas were spotted. God speed amigos. Happy Friday!
Cruz: The buoys this morning are showing that the winds did continue at acceptable levels offshore to possibly produce action for SoFlo this morning. Check it.
Gumby: I got skunked. I am going to Tampa for the weekend so you all should get a swell of some sort. Mysto maybe? Byonton Public was apparently closed due to sharks. I guess they are heading south? Weird, since the water north of PBC is finally warming up.
Cruz: Because the winds have backed off, the chance of local swell in the AM may be dashed.
Cruz: Go Dog Go!
Wahoo: i'm going
Oldog: Yup, but there's a low swell roling over the sandbars, with some crumbly yet rideable knee to waist sets.
Wahoo: still looks small on the cams...
Oldog: Grabbed a few rideables at lunch. Nothing great, but still the best part of my day. Water warmer than air.
Wahoo: board is sun curing as we speak----lets go swell!
Oldog: Gadzooks! Is that a giant glob of ambergris in the top photo?
Wahoo: Cruz: are you doing a live broadcast today?
Wahoo: swell filling in yet???
KaBesDailyDriveBy: oh and the pics are up!!!!
KaBesDailyDriveBy: Thx For the set up!!! this AM is almost in the rideable range, NE Swell w/ pretty strong offshores but just not there yet. should fill in through out the day. check it and be ready!!!
Wahoo: nice KB, I hope you appreciate that setup...
Oldog: The too-tan blonde chick: Ooh, an obscure literary reference catfight! (and who?s ?Speonk??...)
KaBes: Wahoo: JB can't read so I'm sure it was just an obscure suggestion. He thinks Melville is a Town on Long Island, not an author
Wahoo: Ambergris, wow haven't heard that word since I read Jitterbug Perfume...was that a literary reference JB or merely an obscure suggestion?
KaBesDailyDriveBy: Wed. 2/24/10 hard to believe this month is almost over. Unrideable sub calf high SE chop. Pics to follow.
Oldog: ... on the lookout for waxy stuff from the intestines of sperm whales, but finding only hunks of Zog, and unidentifiable slimeballs. Such is life.
JB:: Keep an eye out for some Ambergris Oldog. A decent sized chunk of that could finance a new LB.
Oldog: Dude!
Cruz: Wow. After looking at this Argonaut life cycle, I'm feeling kind of primitive. Strangely, it's good to know that other creatures share our angst.
Oldog: Not a fossil. Looks like a transluscent nautilus shell, with no chambers, but technically, it's a protective case that the female builds, carries around and lives in to protect her eggs. To mate, the male "gives" her a special sperm arm, which breaks off, and she KEEPS it in the case. Ow.
Cruz: Cool - so was is it a shell or a fossil?
Oldog: ...and now for some weird geeky news: I found an Argonaut ?shell? (which is actually a pelagic octopus egg case) on the beach yesterday. No, reallly - see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paper_nautilus
KaBesDailyDriveBy: Sorry so late, but this AM yielded a micro south sub knee high line, almost rideable. Sweepers catching a few lazy lines, but not really doing it. Check Cruzzer's forecast...
Cruz: Wahoo - slight chance of south wind swell from Wednesday and decent chance of local swell on Thursday morning/PM in Sofl.
Wahoo: waves?
Wahoo: nice butt BGOTD!
Oldog: Some rideable wind chop, but lots o manowar in the water, moving north fast. (I got ankle deep and changed my mind)
KaBesDailyDriveBy: Rainy Monday, but waist + SE wind chop. looks like fun, but drift looks strong too, rain forecasted for the day, and heavy in the PM. get some!
brazuca: cool , thanks for the inf.
Cruz: Brazuca - A possible southy for the EC of Florida for Tuesday. Not likely. Looking better for Thurs. morning for local swell. NW winds at 20-25.
walle: thanks...Kabes.
Oldog: JB: If my thrashing around isn't enough to do it, I'll ask the dolphins to herd some down (where's my ahooga horn?)
JB:: Push those schools south Oldog! Been real slow to turn on south of Boynton Inlet this season.
Oldog: Pretty much confirmed, but the spanish bite's been on - go fish!
KaBes: Sorry no drive by today, but it's pretty much flat anyways.
BRAZUCA: HELLO, CAN ANYBODY GIVE US SOME HOPE FOR SOME WAVES THIS COMING WEEK?
Oldog: Happy to say that last night was a blast, with a few superlong lefts, palm trees framed by sunset and a pair of performing dolphins. The Flailing Potato lives!
KaBes: Walle: to the right of the weather images (NOAA) and below the forcast in the middle of the page
walle: I guess I should ask the questions better...where are the pics posted. DOH! I know they are from the old stompin' grounds.
Surfitness: Sounds great guys...Surf this am looked about thigh high+ George Bush Blvd area
Oldog: Yeah, I'm worn out just watching them. If you see me throw anything like that, it means I've got a manowar in my trunks.
KaBes: oldog: That McFlip double twist thing the tomato threw at the end was INSANE!!! Also saw those dive bombers, got a few pics of them too....very cool agreed!!!!
Oldog: Found some open ends last night at "Beach FL". Just me and a zillion fish. No time in AM (Damn you Flying Tomato!) but definitely rideable. There were a couple of hundred gannets dive-bombing offshore. Very cool.
KaBesDailyDriveBy: Thursday AM. small north lines, maybe knee high. good angle and looks fun, go get some
KaBesDailyDriveBy: Walle; Barzuca; I try to take pics from a different spot each day but I am in the South Palm Beach, North Broward area
brazuca: Beach , fl where .
Cruz: Beach, FL
walle: Kabes...where are the pics located?
Oldog: Wahoo: Me and one other dude found the somewhere last night. H high long lefts till dark at the secret spot, but wind knocked down chopped it out this AM.
KaBesDailyDriveBy: Pics are up
Cruz: 9:30am check in SPBC - lots of energy. A little fat out there......
Wahoo: Any chance for some action this wknd, Cruz? I'm finally spending a wknd at home, and am literally dying from lack of surf....too much work/travel - Lord send me some scraps, please!!!
Wahoo: It was head high off Hillsboro mile last night...closing out where I was, but prob really good somewhere
KaBesDailyDriveBy: Wed.AM small knee high and rideable. Clean north lines and light winds as of 8AM. best on a longboard, but shortboardable for sure. get some
561guy: swell came up head hi before dark in pb co. best bet to chek in am , mabee, or not, thats' So Flo.
surfer: f--k it. im going
surfer: any predictions for tomorrow morning????? GO/NO GO
Cruz: Thanks Dog.
Oldog: I swam Jupiter at about 1:00. There was a swell, but not rideable. Cam definitely looks like things have gotten more interesting since then, and could be good in AM?
Cruz: I see energy on the CAMS. Any eyewitnesses?
KaBesDailyDriveBy: Flat!!!
Oldog: Re the OF&S in the LBL - I can at least state unequivocably that I'm a good swimmer. Cruz: thx for the sticker. Had to battle my young, slender, fast daughter for it.
KaBesDailyDriveBy: pics to follow.
KaBesDailyDriveBy: Sunday Valentines day: well there are waves, knee high + maybe a bigger set or two. Tide putting a hurting on it, and has is doubling up, right tide right place and ye shall score
Cruz: The "fat, old and slow" comment is wrong. The Pottsie comment is correct.
WAvewarrior: You guys r too fat, old and slow to catch waves that long. Pottsie can't even swim.
KaBesDailyDriveBy: 3:30pm Friday strong SE wind chop, big and drifty, a far cry from this AM's flat calm conditions. Not looking all that fun, looks like a lot of work!!!
KaBes: Yeah I tell them right after you tell everyone about my 300 yard 5 over soul arch....the only difference is my ride really happened!!!!!
Pottsie: KB - Tell everybody about my 100 yrd left on Thursday.
Conan: Rain or Snow - Go and hug your state tomorrow. handsacrossthesand.com
WAvewarrior: Thurs. aftrnoon was waist hi and clean in the right spot if u could find it. The off shore reefs were pumping, solid.
Cruz: Cool, I just secured it for 10 years.
Pottsie: Cruz - I checked it for you. carpoollinelife.com is available.
Cruz: Saturday is looking good too.
Cruz: Thanks Gumby.
Gumby: Thurs, 1030 a.m.: Refraction peaked overnight but tide is dropping out and it is showing from Jupiter (waist high at Civic) to Boca (at least). Hit it while it's there and while the winds are offshore. Unless the winds stay light when they go north (about 2 p.m.), there will be a small window only.
KaBesDailyDriveby: Tuesday am: Strong SE winds creating wedgy peaks in the waist plus range. Looks mostly like SE chop with some hidden NE swell under it. Not anything like yesterday... But waves to ride!
561guy: thanx for the heads up this am. had a 3 hr. nooner at a central pb co. peir. shoulda taken the long, instead of the mid-size board. tide was a little fat, but still got my fill. water was clear and beautiful !
WAvewarrior: NB and SB were super fun today hope u all got urs.
KaBesPMDriveBy: Fun stuff coming in everywhere. stand out spots...well, they are just that...standing out!!!! Chest high, maybe a bigger set or two and real fun. GO GET IT NOW!!!!
Brad Vazquez: Looks really fun right now on the cams in Delray. Should keep building!
KaBesDailyDriveBy: Mon.2/8. Fun waist + NE swell. Fun lines this am, winds are real light tide on the way out. Looks good go get some!!!
Cruz: Nice. The data on the buoys show some good numbers for surf this morning. Check it early. High tide is approx 5am.
KaBesDailyDriveby: Waist to chest SE chop... Unreal amount of our blue friends on the shoreline!!!!!! Be careful...getting wrapped up by one of them can really ruin your day!!!! But there are waves for sure!!!
WAvewarrior: We all know the risks of swimming with mother nature, wish his friends and family the best.
Cruz: A shark attack death in our backyard is always unnerving. Yes. Prayers.
KaBes: crazy....very sad. Thoughts and prayers to the family for sure!!!
Wahoo: Shark death in Stuart...my blessings to the family.
KaBesDailyDrinveBy: Thurs. 2/4 Pics r up!!! Thx Cruzzer!!!!

KaBesDailyDrinveBy: Thurs. 2/4 Sub Knee high NE chop almost rideable. could build and be fun. worth a look if you can. certain spots might even be rideable on a log now
Cruz: Updated. 4cast and posted January BGOD archive.
KaBesDailyDrinveBy: OK Cruzzer, we accept your apology. Pics finally up....I guess we should cut Cruzzer some slack, he's under a lot of pressure this week.
Cruz: Please excuse my lack of updating. I have a festival to throw at my kids school.
KaBesDailyDrinveBy: Wed.2/3 Small knee high or less N swell. Could be fun at "select" spots on a log. Choose wisely and you could have some fun
WAvewarrior: wasist to stomach hi in nb this morning, lots o fun on a log
Cruz: Round 2
KaBesDailyDrinveBy: P.S. Lot's of our little blue stingy friends...as you will see by the pics...to follow shortly.
KaBesDailyDrinveBy: Tues. 2/2 knee to waist chop, a little nicer looking than yesterday. some small ones but looks fun. get it if you can, or at least it's worth a check
Cruz: Sorry about the typos in the forecast. It must have been that Catholic Education.
KaBesDailyDrinveBy: Mon. 2/1, small NE to E chop slop in the knee to waist high range. If you need some, you can definitly get some, not the prettiest of days but there is surf.
Cruz: NE chop is coming down the coastline.
Cruz: No waves today along the SE FLA coast. SW coast will have waist high chop. Panhandle should see a possible SW swell. Rain is on the way as a blimp of low pressure moves in from the SW.
lolong: so cruz bottom line, when can we expect waves again?
KaBes: Pics now can be clicked and enlarged....check it out!!!!
Oldog: The red underpants girl hangs out at Bottom Beach
Conan: Pipeline live: www.volcompipelinepro.com/live/ Guest com Gerry Lopez on NOW
Cruz: Kabes - Nice bottom beach shot.
KaBes: Looking a lot more rideable now...
KaBes: Pics are up
KaBesDailyDriveBy: Thurs. 1/28/10 small almost knee high north lines with an onshore crinkle to it. tough to say, but might be worth a look.
WAvewarrior: Surfed NB mon thru today super loggable; pretty much too my self at times, helps when I get too watch it all day. Hope U guys and gals got urs.
561guy: 1-26 Tuesday Work had me in St. Lucie Co. Checked FPI in the am low tidish, side shore winds-no one out include me. Did my job, and chek back in afternoon, wind straight onshore, tide coming up, cleaned up alot. Went out with 1 other guy who was sponging, good sesh for the surf impaired, quickly joined by other boarders , comf in shorts and a 1mm top.
Oldog: That's me - didn't paddle all the way out to the stream, but think I found the only lonely rideable wave in Yoopiter yesterday.
KaBesDailyDriveBy: My Pleasure Oldog!!! Today(Wed 27th) is very similar to yesterday. sub knee high, but gulf stream huge. might be loggable somewhere for the desperate
Oldog: KaBes: Thanks for the info!
KaBesDailyDriveBy: Tues. 26th: Beautiful day!!! cool out with off shore winds, sub knee high north lines, with the gulf stream looking huge, keep an eye on it today....
KaBes: Mon pics r up
KaBes: Mon 1/25...go get some!!! Waist plus mixed E SE chop slop with some underlying NE swell mixed in it looks like. looks fun.
KaBesDailyDriveBy: Sun report below and pics to follow
KaBesDailyDriveBy: Waist high, SE chop slop, rideable and could be fun at the right spot, head east there's waves.
KaBesDailyDriveby: Sorry 4 the late report, but the pics say it all. Head high on the seagulls, that's about it! Check it later u never know
Cruz: Wow. That low exiting quickly off Cape Hatteras has an eye.
KaBes: Fri AM Pics updated
KaBes DailyDriveBy: Just below knee high, south leftovers. not really rideable
Oldog: Is that what they call a breakout shoutbox?
JB:: yeah KB... I really like what you've done with the site since taking over control!
Cruz: Nice work KB.
KaBes: 2PM check: fun south chop in the waist plus range. looks like some fun peaks out there. the against the grain lefts look fastest, rights look longer and mushier, but looks fun.
KaBes DailyDriveBy: 8:30 Am Thurs. 1/21. There's surf!!! small knee maybe thigh high SE wind chop. could be fun at the right tide and right spot.
KaBes DailyDriveBy: Flat, slight trace N line sub ankle high. Great beach, snorkle, diving, and fishing day!!!
KaBes DailyDriveBy: ok, daily pics are up. sorry 4 the delay, still working the kinks out. I will also post a daily report here under "daily drive by".
Conan: I though KB took over

I want Video (Beach and BGOD)
KaBes: Cruzzer....that's not nice. Conan....new daily pics are up.
Oldog: Conan: Just checked the hands across the sand link - thanks! Harvested a bag of bch trash yesterday and today, so maybe Cruz' low will show.
Cruz: Great new format KB. La Douche.
Conan: Nice new format. KB: when are you going to tap into the cam for Cruz?
Conan: Save the Date 2/13/10: http://handsacrossthesand.com/ keep FL waters oil free
KaBes: 561guy, thanks for the props!!!! the pics will vary each day but mostly in the South Palm Beach and North Broward areas
561guy: Nice add too the site, but may I ask where the daily picts. are shot? Exuse me if its' there and I;m not seeing it.
Wahoo: All I can say is sweet! to the new shoutbox...well done again gents...
KaBes: Thanks VanIsle, but I can not take credit for the BGOTD's. That is all the work of the One and Only Cruzzer!!!! I handle the daily pics.... and I know, I've missed the last 2 days. Working on it....we'll get it right.
Machapu: 30k prize ASP LQS in Huanchaco Peru! Jan 27-30. Stay with us in Chicama, the most perfect longboarding wave in the world! http://www.machapuadventures.com/about_chicama.htm
Name VanIsle: The BGOD rocks. thanks KaBabes
PSL local: Anyone know if there is such a chart or forcast for water temps? PSL was 55 degrees water temp - painful
sjw: The big E's are looking good!
KaBes: soon to be click-able to enlarge the size....we're workin on it!!!!!!
KaBes: Alright...daily pics are up!!!!!
WAvewarrior: Anyone happen to know where a nice guy like myself can find some fun with a few friendly swells.
561guy: I've never "not" seen a shark at ocean reef park in winter. They like the channel right beside waters edge, like most beach breaks in FL, but really prominent there. My hand is up for the daily pictures.
Gumby: Kabes - Only if you name the spot!

Went out at the not-so-secret Ocean Reef park late this afternoon to ride some waist to rib high glassy lefts breaking off the exposed reef. Got out there to be greeted by no less than 10 good sized sharks. Two waves and out.
Oldog: Sounds good to me, after you figure out the most satisfying BG position.
KaBes: The placement, it's all about the placement!!! Speaking of placement...by a show of hands, how many of you would like to see a daily surf pic with placement on the site?
sjw: There is nothing wrong with this picture.
Cruz: Not that there is anything wrong with that.
KaBes: Hey everyone, click above to open up a seperate window/shout box. This way you guys can shout all day without a BGOTD's rear end starring your co-worker in the face.
Oldog: Bloggers remorse: I withdraw my below snarky skewering comment, with apologies. Please replace with ?More separation = less anxiety.?
Oldog: Barny - good trash getting! I'll let Westwind praise you for skewering that other guy. Nice photos Cruz!
Gumby: Love the clean look to the site, Cruz. It's working through SFL gentlemints. Go surf.
dwj: Nice update to the site Cruz.
KaBes: No dribble where I surfed today. Waist + Fun ones, with some punch, had an inside peak all to myself, water was warm, but as soon as you got out....painfully cold. Worth every chilly footstep back to my truck.
Gumby: Barn - you're the second person to tell me this. Wish I had thought to travel south sooner... I think tomorrow will be on further north too.
Wahoo: I can't believe these temps...crazy Fl
Barney: Well I got some nice waves at a secret spot...Very few out due to the cold. And one less kook now that I duckdove thru his board.
Gumby: What waves? All I see is flatness, unless you count that dribble in Boca? Please let there be something tomorrow.
Barny: Well I picked up some trash from the beach earlier today, most of it was frozen to my wetsuit. I accidently duckdived infront of someone taking off on a wave and came up and went thru his board. Man was he pissed! His board was 2 weeks old. ooops
JB:: Pretty rare occasion in S Fl when the beer stored outside of the 'fridge in the garage is colder than the ones in it.
surfer: I'll be out there as soon as i can see waves coming!!!
lolong: Who will be the first to bare sub zero (well not really) temps in the AM. Should be fun!!
ais: As forecasted in June, with El Nino in place we would experience a milder hurricane season, but a harsher winter. I would say that is pretty accurate.
Cruz: There's plenty of energy right now in PBC.
Cruz: Things are on the up and up Sunday-Monday/Tues. I will update now.
Pottsie: I still use my SALSA coffee mug everyday.
KaBes: Testing 123
sjw: Can they were a hat.
Cruz: Yes. I know, But OSHA regulation warrants a certain amount of material to be worn.
sjw: Cruz, I thought LBL had a bit to much on
Cruz: Test 2
Cruz: Testing, testing. 1.2.3
Oldog: Please, don't encourage her. Talk about endangering your Happy Place...
Cruz: Oldog. That's funny.
Cruz: I just adjusted it. If you click above where it says"ShoutIT in LBL Shoutbox" it should open a breakout box with just the Shoutbox. Try it.
KaBes: LOL!!!!
Oldog: Mom!
Oldog\'s Mother: Or, you could replace that tramp with a nice photo of David Hasselhof...
KaBes: Or we can raise the shout box.
KaBes: Wahoo, you bring up a good point. Cruzzer, maybe we should put it lower on the site or maybe just switch that and the West End Films spot? Especially if we push the limits on "risque" nature of the image.
Oldog: So, Cruz, if a bikini was a "French cut" would that mean the girl was from France? Wahoo: Surprised I would not be if crossed paths we had (with my 4'0" SUP I am sorry about having cut you off)
Wahoo: LOL meant to be LBL...
Wahoo: Hey Cruz, I know this sounds CRAZY, but is there anyway to "re-locate" this beautiful arse to my left? I love checking the LOL site on breaks from work, but this booty is so close to the Shout box that I can't chime in without my co-workers thinking I'm looking at a porn site! No worries if not brother; happy Friday to all!
Gumby: Oldog - what do you ride? I am a Jupiter (Civic mostly) local (now anyway - still lay claim to being a Boynton local for having lived there so long and still surf there more than Jup believe it or not). Probably have seen you out there at some point.
Oldog: At the Secret Spot, trash bagging was I...
Wahoo: Hey Oldog, I think I saw you! Do you ride a 3'2 Al Merrick? That bag looked bigger than you! Mad props! You're like a surfing yota! Woohoo!
Cruz: FYI - Those Undies are considered "Bikini-Cut" style. They qualify. Yep.
Cruz: FYI - Those Undies are considered "Bikini-Cut" style. They qualify. Yep.
Oldog: Right on KaBes. It's not the Underwear GofTDs, just the soggy nearshore herd. Jupiter wasn't quite rideable at lunch, but saw nice schools of spanish flipping just outside the rocks N of Carlin. I harvested one bag o trash, so maybe some weekend waves.
Cruz: It will snow in Gainesville Friday.
JB:: Asking for the locations of secret spots is right up there with politics and religion; things you just don't talk about with others.
KaBes: This is great!!! I feel a lot of Love on the site, or is that just the BGOTD??? Either way....we all know as in life, & especially in surfing you must pay your dues before you earn your place in the line up!
wavewarrior: Or u could just skip surfing and learn how to sweep!
Oldog\'s Mother: Thank you Mother. He?s been pitching the One Piece plan for a while, but yours is one of the very few positive replies so far. He knows that picking up just One Piece of trash, no matter how small, each time we hit the beach can make a giant difference. He?s waiting for more humans to commit. So, here we go Mother - to bring things full circle for our man Barny: I love you, You love me. Come on WestWind ? what are we?
MOTHER OCEAN: I like this One Piece plan. If enough trash is picked up, I will send you waves this weekend.
Oldog\'s Mother: WestWind: You?ve got my boy wrong. He doesn?t pretend to own anything waterward of the asphalt. If he?d started at the public with everyone else, complained about the ?kooks? and asked for some ?secret spot? intel, he?d have gotten the same answer he gave our man Barny, or much worse. He was just telling the dude to begin at the beginning and ?revel in the experience? (he is a bit melodramatic). So, you in on the One Piece plan?
WestWind: So, there you go Barny the answer is yes. Check out access 5 North of Atlantic Beach/Ponce Inlet/Blow Whole/Sebastian Inlet just to name a few. But be prepared to meet some Oldog types that think they own the beach and the waves. Just remember surf away from everyone else at least for a while and if you cut one of these guys off just paddle fast to the next beach!
Oldog: So, there you go Barny ? the answer to your question is apparently NO, we can not tell you about any secret spots, because they are, well, secret. The fact is that, when you are ?new to surfing?, you are supposed to BE one of the kooks at the public beach, and we expect you to revel in the experience. Dig hard, be polite and rock on. Oh, and please pick up One Piece of trash each time you leave the beach. Mother Ocean will love you and we will respect you. Cool?
wavewarrior: Flamingo goes off on a N. swell!!!
Woo: Sebastian Inlet?
surfer: hey Barny, theres a great secret spot between jacksonville and miami you could try
Oldog: At least I didn't give away the never-fails "wave barking" secret.
Cruz: I like the pork chop advice.
Oldog: Lake O West rules! But, to compensate for the lack of buoyancy inherent to fresh vs salt water, you must strap a pork chop onto the top of each foot. Duct tape works well. Happy New Year
wavewarrior: There r some killer spots on the west side of Lake Okeechobee!
Barny: Hey can anyone tell me where some secret spots are? I am new to surfing and the public beachs are so crowded with kooks.
KaBes: Happy New Year Everyone!!! Hey Potts, what a blast we had up there. The Family already wants to go back. Killer time and beautiful area. Need to talk to you about it. I'll give you a buzz this week some time.
Woo: Well, yesterday in Fort Lauderdale was sick, today was flat.
Cruz: Happy New Year. Thanks for a great 2009.
